Welcome to sooryarethin.xyz, my corner of the world. My hope is for this website is to build a collection of my thoughts on different media. This can include stuff I’m working on, an interesting book I just finished, or a piece of standup that I recently enjoyed.

This blog is probably going to have pages that are retroactively filled in. I wish I had build this up from a younger age, but here we go.

What’s going on?

I just graduated from Cornell University in May 2025, receiving my Ph.D in Applied and Engineering Physics. My thesis was titled “Distinguishability, Symmetry, and Energy Estimation”.

I will be joining the Global Technology Applied Research team at JPMorgan Chase starting in July. My wife and I will be moving to NYC, and I’m excited to finally live in a major city.
